June 8, 2021
The content of this Safety Notice is intended for Swedish owners of VIKING inflatable lifejackets.
For safety reasons VIKING is calling in specific ISO lifejackets for service. An investigation has found that cylinders inside inflatable lifejackets could potentially loosen during use, resulting in the Swedish authorities having made an amendment to the ISO regulation. We want to make sure that your equipment is in the best of conditions, hence we ask you to take notice of below:
Models affected
- PV9210
- PV9272
- PV9273
- PV9274
- PV9275
Action required
- Check if you own one of the affected lifejacket models referenced above
- If yes:
- Please contact your nearest VIKING servicing station to get a retainer strap - a mechanical locking device that confines the movement of the gas cylinder - mounted free of charge.
- No action required for lifejackets serviced at an authorized service station after June 2020
