Cylinder retainer required by Swedish Consumer Agency

Dear customer,


The Swedish Consumer Agency has decided that all inflatable lifejackets manufactured after 2010 must be equipped with a gas cylinder retainer. This requirement covers all makes and models of lifejackets in the Swedish market.

Free upgrade

Although this is not a requirement elsewhere in the world, VIKING has decided to offer a free upgrade of the following lifejacket models: PV9210, PV9272, PV9273, PV9274 and PV9275.

What is a cylinder retainer?

The retainer strap is a mechanical locking device that confines the movement of the gas cylinder. If your lifejacket has been serviced by an authorized service station after February 2019, your cylinder has already been securely fastened with Loctite®, but you can still get your retainer strap mounted as an additional precaution.


What to do if you have a VIKING lifejacket?

Please contact your nearest VIKING servicing station to get your retainer mounted free of charge:
